1. What’s the origin of your name?
My mom being Cambodian, my dad thought my skin would be darker; that’s why he called me Mélany. It comes from the word MELANINA, which is a dark pigment found in the cells and which produces our skin and hair color). When I was born that was a big surprise, because I was totally white and red hair!!
2. Where were you born?
In Lourdes, France. Yes, where the Virgin Mary of Lourdes is from!
3. What’s your zodiac sign?

162 cm
5. Do you have kids?
Not biological. I lost a baby from my first marriage and I am the “other” mom of a 15 year-old teenager, my ex-husband’s son. I lived with Christian, the kid, almost 7 years.
6. Are you in a love relationship right now?
Yes! With myself 🙂
7. Summer or winter?
Definitely summer!! It is one of the reasons I have been in Mexico for 10 years now!! After 12 cold Canadian winters, I couldn’t bare the cold weather anymore.
8. What are your hobbies?
Reading – I am convinced that reading is one of the 5 keys to success!
Watch Netflix – I love to watch series to clear my mind. My favorites: GoT, Gypsie, Sex and the city
Walking – It really helps me to relax and recharge energy, and even more if I hike in the mountain.
Writing – I love writing and sharing my texts with others. If I can help you with my writings, then I am a happy person J

9. Who’s your superhero?
My grand pa from my mom’s side. He’s an example of determination, focus, success, love and compassion.
10. Do have any pets?
Yes. I adopted a cat from the street last year. He’s called Volco and he’s a gipsy!! He’s really social, he loves people and he moves his tail when I get home (just like dogs!!)
11. Do you have any siblings?
Yes, one younger brother. We have 5-year difference. He is really intelligent and totally handsome.
12. Are you an adventurous person?
Yes, really. I love taking measurable risks and I really enjoy travelling, especially alone. If adventure is missing in my life, I feel that someone cuts my wings.
13. What do you drink in parties?
TEQUILA! I like it alone. 1800 añejo or Herradura añejo, please!
14. What’s your favorite food?
My mom’s Cambodian food of course! And all the food from the southwest of France!
15. What is your mission in life?
To help others find their mission and step out of their comfort zone.
16. How would you describe happiness?
A state of mind free of expectations.
17. What are your habits to maintain happiness at all time?
I follow a routine that today is an integral part of my life:
- I dedicate 15 minutes everyday to being in silence.
- I repeat positive affirmations every morning in my car.
- Physical training (Crossfit)
- I go hiking every two weeks to the mountains. The contact with nature is very important as it helps to maintain a healthy state of mind.
- I try to eat healthy as much as I can

19. How did you get to Mexico?
By plane!! LOL I came here to learn Spanish and to volunteer with kids for a 6-month period. I failed in love with the country, backpacked 3 months and then started teaching English and French until I got my first real job at PwC.
20.Are you a mama’s girl?
Not at all!! I am very independent. However, as a kid I was always staying close to my mother. I was crying every time they would separate me from her for vacation for example.
21. When was the last time you wrote a hand-written letter to someone?
A month ago. To my dad.
22.Can you change the oil of your car?
Yes, but I can’t change a wheel!! However, I have enough confidence to ask someone to help me hihi
23.Where would you like to live after Mexico?
On a beach in Costa Rica or in Thailand
24.What’s your favorite breakfast?
Mmmmmmmm some strawberries with honey, yogurt and granola, a half baguette and a delicious Green tea!!
25. How many languages do you talk?
Four. I speak French, Québécois (well I mean french Canadian hihi), English and Spanish.

Very loudly!!
27. What did you want to be when you were a kid?
A teacher!! I loved to talk in front of others, be the leader and teach / help others (in that case my students)

Yes, but I don’t dance that often.

Costa Rica, India, Nepal, Italia, Greece, Maldives, South Africa, Peru, Brazil, … Who wants to join?

Movie night. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older, but I really enjoy staying home or going to a nice restaurant to have dinner with nice company.

Passionate by what he does, independent, entrepreneur, loving, lots of humor, traveller, athletic, generous, patient and being an inspiration to me!!

I’m a romantic!! So, yes I have been in love and I love this feeling.

Hot tea!!

Yes. The angels who are taking care of me.

Yes. I believe that there are other dimensions that we cannot necessarily see or touch.
